Sponsoring a horse at Land O’ Lakes Rescue Petting Farm provides the financial resources we need to keep helping horses in need like Hope.

When Hope came to us a year ago, he was days from death. He was 700 lbs under weight and he had a rotten tooth that blew a hole in the side of his cheek. His hoofs were split and had thrush (hoof rot). His gut could not absorb nutrients and he needed vet care immediately.

Many of our supporter have been donating time and money to help with his care and we want you to know that with your support he is doing very well.

Hope was immediately put on a special diet. We had to slowly introduce different grains and food to slowly rebuild his gut. He still remains on this special diet, but with the special food he has gained about 400lbs in the past year and is on his way to gaining his full weight back. Though he still needs to gain another 300 lbs.

The tooth had been removed. Along with medicine and special cream we have cleared up the hole in his cheek. We continue to put hoof flex on his hoof and they have now fully recovered.
